Must I REALLY make pumpkin pie?
I am hosting a small T-day consisting of our family, my parents and my brother Brent and his wife Sam at our house this Thanksgiving.
I have a dilemma.
I am not a huge fan of pumpkin pie, but can make killer pies. I personally love pecan and lemon merigue.
Must I REALLY make a third pie?
I am hosting T-day and will be buying most of the dinner ingredients. We will be cleaning our house for our visitors. I will be sweating cooking dinner. I will mostly be the one with the stress of having the "perfect" thanksgiving dinner.
Don't get me wrong, I love to cook and am really excited to be hosting!
But really-DO I HAVE to make a pumpkin pie since it's my house and I finally get to call the shots? Please weigh in....
p.s. I have a pumpkin dessert that is super yummy I would happily make on Black Friday to suffice the pumpkin lovers around here and I even like it OR I would even make pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving dessert too. Anything BUT pumpkin pie...blech....
but really weigh in....you know how I feel, but just wondering if it CAN be Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie. I really would rather not...

Last year I made a pumpkin cheesecake. Is everyone coming from out of town? Could someone else make one? But realistically, if you are already making two pies, there's no need for a third. You'll just be stuck with the leftovers that you don't even like. And no one's going to even notice there's not a pumpkin one. I say make what you want!
My answer would be - YES! It is just not Thanksgiving without at least one traditional pumpkin pie.
I love, love, love pumpkin pie and pumpkin anything, but I say delegate the making of one to your company!
I am one of the guests and my favorite pie is PUMPKIN!! No pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving is like not having a Christmas Tree on Christmas!!!!!! If you don't feel up for it, I'm sure Mom and I or Sam and I can make one. Shoot I'll got to Costco and buy one! I have to have my pie and tons of whipped cream on it!!!!
I am also one of the guests and I would MUCH rather have some other kind of pie. If we had pumpkin pie I would probably eat a tiny slice because it was there. Don't worry about it Karin. I'll make Brent his own pumpkin pie and he can eat it with an entire thing of Cool Whip all by himself.
Plus, you can't even really call our tree a tree by the time Christmas rolls around because Emma destroys it before then.
I'll make the pie or buy it! Don't work pumpkin pie lovers, we won't forsake this time honored tradition. We won't forget the sacrifices of our pilgrim heritage.
I meant to say worry
Well with that discussion, I don't think my opinion will weigh much. At first I was going to say, don't worry about it, but now I think you should probably have a pumpkin pie. Go for the Costco one. It's good, it's cheap, and you don't have to sweat it!

I think this is great. I will be one of the guests also. I can just see Brent making a stop at Costco as soon as he gets off the plane. Great comments.
Moms says: I would be happy to make a pumpkin pie and bring the ingredients, since I'm also bringing the ingredients for the sweet potato casserole as no one likes it but ME and DAD! I think Brent will eat the leftover pie!
Mom you can help make the pie, but I don't want a SUGARLESS pie.
Mom- that's because your sweet potatoes are really squash!
